For SMASH’s fifth annual benefit concert, I crafted a high-impact press release announcing a star-studded tribute to David Bowie at Seattle’s historic Moore Theatre. Featuring members of Pearl Jam, REM, Sleater-Kinney, Death Cab for Cutie, and more, the release balanced excitement with clarity, highlighting the event’s mission: raising funds to support musicians’ access to healthcare. My goal was to blend bold, playful language with informative detail, drive press coverage, and position SMASH as a cultural cornerstone in Seattle’s music scene. The release helped generate media buzz and strong ticket sales for what The Seattle Times calls “one of Seattle’s best new concert traditions.”
