Recent projects include creative and communications strategy for the Nez Perce Tribe’s Columbia Snake River Campaign, Hinton Publishing, and the In the Meanwhile Podcast. We’ve also partnered with political campaigns, nonprofits, and cultural organizations across the Pacific Northwest, from the Our Votes Count Campaign and NO on I-2117 to music festivals, new venue launches, and issue-based initiatives. No matter the project, Casita Azul Creative helps clients tell stories that resonate and inspire action.

full-service Creative
& marketing agency

Casita Azul Creative is a Seattle-based full-service marketing and creative studio that helps mission-driven organizations, artists, small businesses, and progressive campaigns move people to action. We combine communications strategy, branding, and design with hands-on creative production in visual design, photography, videography, and written content.

Our work is rooted in the belief that authentic storytelling and thoughtful design can shift narratives, build trust, and create lasting impact in a fast-moving, noisy communications landscape. From developing campaign strategies to building visual identities and producing events, Casita Azul delivers work that is strategic, artistic, and built in collaboration with our clients.

Nikki Barron, founder of Casita Azul Creative, brings over 15 years of experience in marketing, design, and communications across the nonprofit, arts, media, and creative technology sectors. She has led teams and strategies in roles such as Communications and Fundraising lead at Seattle Musicians’ Access to Sustainable Healthcare (SMASH), Head of Marketing at Mastin Labs, and Chief of Staff at Converge Media during the height of the Black Lives Matter movement and George Floyd protests on Capitol Hill. She also guided communications for the reopening of The Crocodile’s landmark multi-venue space.

At Casita Azul, Nikki combines strategy with artistry to help clients meet their communications and creative goals. Her portfolio spans branding, campaign production, event ideation, and creative direction for candidates like Nick Brown and Girmay Zahilay, campaigns such as NO on I-2117, and cultural projects including Bellingham Exit Music Festival and Add-a-Ball’s new music venue in Fremont.

Beyond her client work, Nikki serves as Publisher and Board Member of the South Seattle Emerald, a nonprofit newsroom amplifying stories from Seattle’s South End. She is also a practicing visual artist working in design, video, and photography, as well as a vinyl DJ performing as Elf Off The Shelf — known for spinning deep-cut disco, funk, dance, and holiday R&B across Seattle each December.

TESTIMONIAL ✸

"Companies survive by their marketing, and brands can not exist without it; simply put, businesses don't survive without people like Nikki. I worked with Nikki at Mastin Labs, providing creative support for her role as head of marketing. From her first day, Nikki's presence was transformative for the company. She came in with ardent leadership, focus, and a work ethic and capacity for tasks I've never seen before - leading the company forward to yearly revenue growth and the rise to a leading brand in its market.

I hold great admiration for all she does and accomplishes outside of work; she champions the underrepresented, helps artists to be heard and seen, and offers guidance to others in many ways. The scope of her character amplifies her work, inspires compassion, and brings a wonderfully social environment to the workplace."
